<p>Continuation of TAPE_0446A</p>
<p>After all the ordeals that Samba Gilajegi experienced, he was advised to visit his father’s marabout. The marabout did all that was necessary for his protection and he returned home.</p>
<p>Samba Gilajegi revealed to his griot Sewi that he would kill the marabout in order to keep the secret behind his powers. He actually killed him and returned home.</p>
<p>When he got home, he went into hibernation for many days which caused Sewi to be confused and disappointed by his action. He went to Samba Gilajegi and relayed to him that he was leaving because he felt hopeless and insecure based on Samba’s actions. He encouraged him to stay and promised that he would become a great man in Fouta. Sewi then advised him to return to his uncle and request his inheritance.</p>
<p>He agreed and made the request but was told that the girls and cattle were for him. This gave him much joy and went to Sewi.</p>
<p>Then Sewi demanded he go again and ask his uncle. He told him that his father also left him guns and ammunition. He returned to Sewi and informed him of the situation, and he was satisfied.</p>
<p>Samba later departed with Sewi to Kono and Sahe. When they were between Jeengi and Tarass, he heard a bird singing and he shouted Lagiya. Then he bragged that once he returned to Fouta he would depose all the rulers there.</p>
<p>On arrival to Tarass he asked the marabout there to provide him with spiritual protection to keep him safe from his enemies. His arrival coincided with some men seizing the marabout cattle but Samba pursued them and was able to regain the cattle.</p>
<p>Subsequently, while in Fouta he feuded with his uncle Bubu Musa and chased him out of Fouta. He went to resettle at Padalal and later died there.</p>
<p>Samba Gilajegi fought with Birom Yassin Bubu and many others. Birom Yassin Bubu Ndaw fought with him for an entire day but neither could defeat the other.</p>
<p>Samba Gilajegi was very famous and brave but he was not fond of fighting.</p>
<p>Sewi played Nyawla a tune before he introduced Lagiya which emanated from a bird song.</p>
<p>He later traveled to Jam Welli in Bundu and lodged at a very popular lady’s compound. She prepared him food that he did not like but forced himself to eat because he felt was obligated. Undoubtedly, the food was poisoned and he died from consumption.</p>
