When the white men (the French) came, they met Taibou in Kardeh and conspired with her to poison and kill Alfa Yaya.&nbsp;&nbsp;While they were discussing plans one of Taibou&rsquo;s slaves heard it.&nbsp;Following Alfa Yaya&rsquo;s return from Labe to Kardeh, his wife Taibou made him breakfast with poison and then sent her slave to call him to eat.&nbsp;&nbsp;The slave told Alfa Yaya about the conspiracy, and he sent his men to kill Taibou by suffocating her to death.&nbsp;When the white men returned they found Alfa Yaya alive, and they asked about Taibou his wife. He told them that she was dead.
