{"DOI":"10.25592/uhhfdm.16267","abstract":"<p>The second issue of the series &lsquo;Written Artefacts as Cultural Heritage&rsquo; provides translations of the much-acclaimed manual &lsquo;Be prepared: Guidelines for small museums for writing a disaster preparedness plan&rsquo;. It is available open access. The <a href=\"https://aiccm.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/beprepared.pdf\">English original</a> of the manual was first published in 2000 by the Australian Heritage Collections Council.&nbsp;By translating it into French, Spanish, and Arabic, we wish to support a wider range of&nbsp;caretakers in archives, libraries, and museums around the world in preparing for cases of emergency and preserving their (written) heritage collections.</p>\n\n<p><em>Written Artefacts as Cultural Heritage</em> was established in 2020. The series is dedicated to the double role of written artefacts as representations and generators of humankind&rsquo;s cultural heritage. Its thematic scope embraces aspects of preservation, the identity-defining role of artefacts as well as ethical questions. Every volume of <em>Written Artefacts as Cultural Heritage</em>&nbsp;is peer-reviewed and openly accessible.
