Global production and climate change. Will it be possible to feed the world’s population in the future? Global food systems operate at the intersection of rising production, malnutrition, and environmental pressures. Despite high food availability, access remains inequitably distributed. At the same time, agriculture and food systems contribute significantly to climate change and are already being impacted by its effects. Future food security depends less on production volume than on structural, economic, and political frameworks. Sustainable solutions also require a transformation of consumption and governance to ensure food security and resilience.
