{"DOI":"10.25592/uhhfdm.902","abstract":"<p>This software tool has been developed by&nbsp;<a href=\"http://uhh.de/hussein-adnan-mohammed\">Dr. Hussein Mohammed</a>&nbsp;as a part of sub-project RFA05:&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.written-artefacts.uni-hamburg.de/research/field-a/rfa05.html\">Pattern Recognition in 2D Data from Digitised Images and Advanced Aquisition Techniques.</a></p>\n\n<p>The main goal of this software tool is to analyse handwritten documents (or manuscripts) in order to measure the similarities between different handwriting styles, the analysis results can be useful for:</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Providing quantitative similarity measurements as a supporting information.</li>\n\t<li>Providing additional support for the work-flow of scholars in manuscript research.</li>\n\t<li>Identifying certain scribes, handwriting styles and schools of writing.</li>\n\t<li>Dating manuscripts based on the gradual change in handwriting styles.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>The research for this software was funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) under Germany&acute;s Excellence Strategy &ndash; EXC 2176 &lsquo;Understanding Written Artefacts: Material, Interaction and Transmission in Manuscript Cultures&rsquo;, project no. 390893796.
