    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;Der Beitrag stellt die Charakteristika des Stadtklimas heraus und besch&amp;auml;ftigt sich insbesondere mit den Unterschieden bei Strahlung, Temperatur und Wasserhaushalt, die sich zwischen Stadt und Umland ergeben. Am Beispiel der Energiebilanz wird der besondere Einfluss urbaner Fl&amp;auml;chen auf die bodennahe Grenzschicht erl&amp;auml;utert. Anhand der st&amp;auml;dtischen W&amp;auml;rmeinsel (UHI) wird gezeigt, welche Temperaturunterschiede in thermischer Hinsicht zwischen Stadt und Umland auftreten. Um Klimaeffekte der Stadt nachweisen zu k&amp;ouml;nnen, werden verschiedene M&amp;ouml;glichkeiten beschrieben und diskutiert. In einem Ausblick wird auf die sich durch den Klimawandel ergebenden Probleme eingegangen und es werden Gegenma&amp;szlig;nahmen auf lokaler Ebene benannt.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Urban climate: introduction, characteristics, estimation of urban effects:T&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;he paper highlights the characteristics of the urban climate and deals in particular with the actinic, thermal and hydrological differences that arise between a city and its surroundings. Using the energy balance as an example, the special influence of urban areas on the atmospheric boundary layer is explained. Based on the urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon the qualitative differences between a city and its rural environment in thermal terms are shown. In order to be able to demonstrate urban climatic characteristics, various possibilities are described and discussed for separating the urban climatic effect from that of the surrounding area. In an outlook, the problems arising from global climate change are addressed and countermeasures at the local level are named.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
