    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;Arktische Warnsignale: Das arktische Klimasystem &amp;auml;ndert sich derzeit mit rasanter Geschwindigkeit. Dabei spielen &amp;uuml;berwiegend verst&amp;auml;rkende R&amp;uuml;ckkopplungsmechanismen eine wichtige Rolle, die bisher weder durch Beobachtungen noch durch numerische Modelle vollst&amp;auml;ndig reproduziert werden konnten (Cohen et al. 2014, Wendisch et al. 2017). Insofern sind intensivierte Forschungsinitiativen in der sich schnell wandelnden Arktis unabdingbar, insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund, dass durch diesen Wandel neue M&amp;ouml;glichkeiten f&amp;uuml;r die wirtschaftliche Nutzung der Arktis entstehen, sich aber auch ernstzunehmende Gefahren f&amp;uuml;r das arktische Umweltsystem verbergen k&amp;ouml;nnen. Die Beurteilung dieser M&amp;ouml;glichkeiten und Gefahren wird nicht einfach, da die &amp;Auml;nderungen des arktischen Klimasystems &amp;auml;u&amp;szlig;erst komplex sind und auch Gebiete au&amp;szlig;erhalb der Arktis betreffen k&amp;ouml;nnen.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Arctic warning signs:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; The Arctic climate system changes currently with unprecedented pace. Mostly amplifying feedback mechanisms might play an important role in this regard, which so far have not sufficiently been reproduced by observations and models (Cohen et al. 2014, Wendisch et al. 2017). Therefore, dedicated research initiatives to study the changing Arctic climate are indispensable, in particular because the Arctic climate changes might offer new prospects for the economic exploration of the Arctic, bringing serious hazards for the Arctic climate system. The evaluation of these potential risks is not easy as the Arctic climate changes are very complex and might concern also other areas in the mid and lower latitudes.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
