    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;Die Nutzung der B&amp;ouml;den durch den Menschen hat eine lange Geschichte. Manchmal f&amp;uuml;hrte eine schicksalhafte Unkenntnis der B&amp;ouml;den zu gro&amp;szlig;en Katastrophen wie z.B. der fl&amp;auml;chenhaften Bodenerosion &amp;ldquo;Dust Bowl&amp;rdquo; in den USA der 1930er Jahre. B&amp;ouml;den haben zahlreiche Funktionen, wie z.B. Produktion von Biomasse oder Bereitstellung von Baumaterialien. Diese Funktionen sind die Basis f&amp;uuml;r &amp;Ouml;kosystemleistungen der B&amp;ouml;den. Als &amp;Ouml;kosy-&lt;br&gt;
stemleistungen bezeichnen wir ganz allgeimein den Nutzen, den die Menschen von &amp;Ouml;kosystemen erhalten. B&amp;ouml;den sind fundamental in die Bereitstellung von &amp;Ouml;kosystemleistungen eingebunden. Sind die Bodenfunktionen intakt, k&amp;ouml;nnen B&amp;ouml;den die notwendigen &amp;Ouml;kosystemleistungen zur Verf&amp;uuml;gung stellen, die f&amp;uuml;r das menschliche Wohlergehen unabdingbar sind.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Soil ecosystem services:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; Humans have been using soils for millennia. Misunderstanding and mismanagement shaped this relationship and led sometimes to disastrous consequences like the large-scale erosion in the &amp;ldquo;Dust Bowl&amp;rdquo; in the 1930ies in the US. Soils fulfill different functions like biomass production or provision of construction material. These functions underpin soil ecosystem services. Ecosystem services are the benefits,&lt;br&gt;
people obtain from ecosystems. Soils are deeply involved in the provisioning of ecosystem services. Only soils with intact functions can provide the ecosystem services which are cruicial for human well-beeing.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Servicios de los ecosistemas del suelo:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; El uso de los suelos por los seres humanos tiene una larga historia. A veces, una fat&amp;iacute;dica falta de conocimiento sobre el suelo condujo a grandes desastres como la extensa erosi&amp;oacute;n del suelo &amp;quot;Dust Bowl&amp;quot; en los Estados Unidos en la d&amp;eacute;cada de 1930. Los suelos tienen numerosas funciones, como la producci&amp;oacute;n de biomasa o el suministro de materiales de construcci&amp;oacute;n. Estas funciones son la base de los servicios ecosist&amp;eacute;micos en los suelos. Como servicios de los ecosistemas, generalmente nos referimos a los beneficios que las personas reciben de los ecosistemas. Los suelos est&amp;aacute;n involucrados fundamentalmente en la provisi&amp;oacute;n de servicios ecosist&amp;eacute;micos. Si las funciones del suelo est&amp;aacute;n intactas, los suelos pueden proporcionar los servicios ecosist&amp;eacute;micos necesarios que son esenciales para el bienestar humano.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
