Wax moulages are lifelike replicas of body parts showing pathological patterns. These models, mainly used in dermatology between 1850 and 1950, were usually cast over a plaster or silicone negative from real patients. The moulage artists usually kept secret their specific wax mixtures.
This 3D scan was made possible within the framework of the Hamburg Open Science programme by funding from the Ministry of Science, Research and Equality of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
